Open Access

Our Open Access sessions are a chance for young people to come together and spend time with friends in a positive environment. We have activities going on for those who want to be involved in these, but essentially we are there to enable conversations, support and friendships. Our Hygiene Bank is open during all sessions for young people to  access any items they need for themselves – it is fully stocked with shower gels, deodorants, shampoo/conditioner, sanitary items.  We are lucky enough to have 3 rooms at our centre in Downham Market:

• Room 1: a place for anyone to grab some tuck or a quick snack and sit with their friends in a cafe style space. This room also houses our ‘Re-new’ shop – nearly new items that support sustainable fashion and are reasonably priced.
• Room 2: a place for arts and crafts, computers and gaming. A chilled space for friends to take part in positive activities.
• Room 3: a place for our ‘older’ young people. If you are in year 8 or older, this is the space to call your own; it has a kettle and microwave as well as ‘chill out’ zones. There is a projector screen and laptop in this room for music or film

Our usual groups are:

• Tuesday 4.30pm – 6.30pm at the Downham Market Centre, 50p entry. Age 8+
• Thursday 4pm – 6pm at the Downham Market Centre. Primary School age from 8 years only. 50p
• Friday 4.30pm – 6.30pm at the Downham Market Centre. High school age only 50p entry.

Everyone over 8 is welcome, we just need registration forms filled prior to entry please. Please note that the Tuesday and Friday sessions get particularly busy, entry is on a first come first served basis. Numbers are dependent on a staff ratio of 1:12

We are also a C-Card Point in Downham Market – contact us for an appointment and to find out the latest ‘drop-in’ times
The Your C-Card Scheme gives FREE condoms to young people in Norfolk aged 13-24. You can access the service whether you’re male or female, no matter what your sexual orientation is. It doesn’t matter whether you’re having sex, thinking about having sex, or if you’re just curious.
